Good Friday

Aside from a quick trip to Trader Joe's, the girls and I stayed home today to observe Good Friday. The girls were interested in learning about Good Friday, so I scoured the internet for some kid-friendly activities that would help explain the significance of this holy day. We also watched a couple of kid DVDs.

Though I believe it all raised more questions than answers. Here's a sampling of the questions that Ella asked today:

• "Was Jesus a daddy?"
• "Why were they able to kill Jesus?"
• "Why didn’t he have a girlfriend or someone who wanted to marry him?"
• "Maybe he had a girlfriend but someone liked his girlfriend and they wanted to kill him."
• "Did Jesus have a brother?" (Me: “No.”) "Aw, he was all alone?"
